You can use your headphones with a variety of audio sources, such as airline entertainment systems, CD/DVD/MP3 players, personal or laptop computers, and home stereos.
The headphone audio cable is fitted with a 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) single plug. A 1/8-inch dual-plug airline audio adapter is included in the box.
To make a connection, carefully insert the headphone plug or adapter into the jack on the audio source you will use.
Notice the jack configurations on the left below. All but the 6.3-mm jack are common to airplanes. Instructions on the right tell you how to connect to each type of jack.
A single 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) jack, found on most portable sources: Use the single plug on the audio cable. No adapter needed.
One 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) jack and one power jack: Use the single plug on the audio cable in the 1/8-inch jack (the larger jack). No adapter needed. The smaller jack does not need a connection.
Two 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) jacks: Use the dual plug adapter.
One power jack and two 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) jacks: Use the dual plug adapter for the two 1/8-inch jacks. The power jack does not need a connection.
One 1/4-inch (6.3 mm) jack, found on home stereos: Any 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch stereo adapter also can be used for this purpose.
When removing a jack or adapter, hold it at its base and gently pull it away from the connection, do not pull the cord.
Note: Airline audio may not equal the same high quality sound as a home audio system or a portable source.
